Golf 4 cluster

Klar ist's einfacher den ganzen Tacho zu tauschen. KKL Kabel und die bekannten 'Freeware' Programme, fertig in 10'. Zumal ich ja auch einen von Bosch nehmen kann der kein Fading hat.

Display tauschen erfordert halt dass man das kann, ist wohl etwas filigran, dann hat auch lang nicht jeder eine brauchbare SMD Heizluftstation mit Feiblötkolben... und woher den neuen Display in Libyen hernehmen?

Das ist doch Schwachsinn.
Wenn Du in Libyen ein "KKL Kabel" bekommst, bekommst Du dort auch ein neues Display für einen Golf 4 Tacho.

Genau - und wo findest Du sowas in Libyen? Abgesehen davon dass es keinen Bosch Tacho mit großer MFA gibt!

Immer schön ruhig bleiben.

KKL Kabel kann man lange und immer wieder benutzen, gibt's dort in einer Werkstatt sicher im Bestand (oder einen VCDS 12.12 clone).

Aktuell irgendwas dorthin verschicken, das macht dir auch der Chinese nicht, weil's einfach nicht ankommt. Da kann gerne was von weltweitem Versand stehen (auch nach Syrien, Nordkorea uvw) geht zB nix).

Ja, es gibt keine Bosch mit großer MFA, braucht er aber wohl auch nicht zwingend. Kleine reicht doch auch. Navianzeige wird dir nicht abgehen dort.

Ich war beruflich schon in einigen afrikanischen Ländern die deutlich besser dastehen als Libyen, selbst dort kriegst du kaum was an Teilen rein und wenn nur mit sehr viel Aufwand und Geld.

In Deutschland oder der sonstigen EU sieht sie Sache natürlich anders aus.

No it's NOT easier to swap the entire cluster. As mentioned: If you take another old cluster with original Display, you'll face the exact same problems, because ALL of these old VDO Displays are bad/weak when it's getting warm in your car.

1J0920842A as well as 1J0920845A are VDO clusters with displays soldered to the pcb.

buy a new display and find someone who is able to handle a soldering iron.
Removing an old display from another cluster is as dumb as swapping your cluster with another old cluster.
p.s.: 1J0920842A and 1J0920845A are not compatible.

I'm afraid that there is something goes wrong with my old cluster..
I put it back in the car and start it.. I went for a short drive for 5 km nearly and notice that the mileage not moving during the drive, but when I stopped the car and switched the ignition off the mileage now changed..
