Hello,

First of all sorry for my english. Please correct me if it is necesarry.
I want to present to you my OEM taillights with full LED and I quick method how to do them.



Steps :
1. By a OEM set of taillights and prepare them.

2. Cut them in the back (you can use a dremel tool or anything else to cut plastic openings). Also you have to break the colored lights lens (yellow and red) to have acces to the clear smoked plastic.


3. I made some carton templates.



4. By doing so I manage to cut the perforated circuit board more precise



5. After that I used adhesive metallic foil to cover the boards.



6. Then I mounted the LEDs.
(This was the 1 setup)


(For the 3 setup I used metallic bells. To have a better focus.

7. For the sides I used plastic tubs because I did not have enough space to put the bells.

Some Materials:

- perforated circuit board
- PVC pipe - approximately 13 mm diameter
- LEDs
*red-orange superflux/piranha (8x8mm, 0.20-30mA angle 80-90 degrees, 10,000 mcd)
Brake - 66 LEDs
Position - 98 LEDs
* superflux/piranha White (8x8mm, 0.20-30mA angle 80-90 degrees, 10,000 mcd)
reverse - 52 LEDs
* suerflux/piranha Yellow (8x8mm, 0.20-30mA angle 80-90 degrees, 10,000 mcd)
turn signal - 44 LEDs
- resistor : 560 ohms, 470 ohms.
- ceramic rezistor : 10 ohms * 17 W (better greater )
- self-adhesive aluminum foil
- metallic bells

For the yellow and red led I used 560 ohms rezistor
For the white ones I used 470 ohms.

You can find on the internet 2 setups for LED's and rezistors.

1 led + 1 rezistor(greater) @ 12V
3leds + 1 rezistor (smaller) @ 12 V

I choosed to use 1 setup because in case of a defect led or rezistor only the defect one will not work .
If you use 2 setup in case of defect led the whole group will not work.

Important .
But there is a "small" problem.

After completed the circuit board with all the leds and rezistor.
Only for Brake and Turn signal . you have to fool the your car because of the reduced power consumption you will have some errors.

You have to put in series a high power rezistor ( 35W>).
You can use ceramic rezistor or other type.

richtig aber so isses leider nicht zugelassen und somit in D nicht fahrbar..... bei erwischen oder unfall könnte es teuer werden

Ja, das ist echt schade...Für Hella oder Inpro wäre es aber wahrscheinlich nicht so viel Arbeit, das Wissen ist da, die "Hüllen" sind da, die LED-Technik ist auch da.
Naja, in Deutschland müssen wir bei billigem und "geschmacksunterschiedlich" aussehendem Zubehör oder Original bleiben.

Das funktioniert ja eh nicht, aber Hella und co hätten selbst mal drauf kommen können, bevor die die Originalen in grün, blau und was weiß ich noch rausgebracht haben.
